One of the most anticipated events of the Fall season are none other than the Emmys. The thespian in me is moved every year by the nominees and winners, so exciting to see which actors are truly appreciated and well deserving. But the fashionista has overpowered that little girl and now I’m glued to the screen in delight at who and what will appear on the Red Carpet.
The primary colors were in full effect Sunday! These were some of my favorite looks.

Ok can we discuss how it has been hot as the dickens in LA for the past week!?! Sheesh! This day I was in the house with the a/c on all day so I had on leggings. I made the mistake of leaving the house in said leggings and I thought I was going to pass out! When I came back out I knew an outfit change was in order. Whew. Regardless of the heat though, summer nights are soon fading away and that saddens me. I’m going to miss these sunsets until next year…

For the past two years I have actively gotten involved with Fashion’s Night Out as seen here and here, this year will be no different. While I do believe that Fashion’s Night Out could stand for a small upgrade here in LA I am determined to make the best out of the night by aiming to attend these dope events.
1. alice + olivia is having a Girl’s Night Out themed event in their store off Robertson, a DJ spinning while all the ultimate slumber party movies play in the background? Sounds like the perfect night to me! Catch me there.
2. BCBG is hosting a contest via instagram for stylish ladies to put together an ensemble for a chance to win big in their stores. Slide on over and show them what you’re made of.
3. Paige Denim is hosting an event titled Uniquely Paige which will have shoppers showing how they make their denim uniquely different. This sounds like the makings of a DIY project and I am ALL the way in for that.
4. ROOS – Shane & Shawn will be spinning music with cocktails and sushi down on Melrose. C. Rob has a pair of neon ROOS that she loves so in honor of her I’ll shoot down there and bring a lil FLYY to the building.
5. Tory Burch will be hosting actress Ashley Madekwe from the blog Ring My Bell; I love her style so I may go on over for a quick chat and photo op.
All in all there is no shortage of events for you to attend, so start planning now! September 6th will be here before you know it and you don’t want to miss out on the fun! Hope to see you there.

This past weekend was a mixture of BBQ and daytime drinking. Otherwise know as a damn blast! I spotted this top a couple times before I actually bought, the day I finally purchased it my mother said, “That’s the perfect shirt for you, it’s exactly what you say ALL the time.” HA! Thanks Mom? Anyway if any of you are ever in LA, you have to go to the Do Over on Sundays, perfect day party. I’ve been going for years now and while I must say I miss the original quaintness of the event it is still definitely a great time. I only snapped a few shots because I was having too much fun.
This last shot I just thought was funny because I was clearly caught off guard…yipes! I hate candid photos!!!

The weekends are about good friends, great food, and excellent views. I spent this weekend with two of my best friends in Venice. If you ever come to LA for a visit be sure to check out the Hotel Erwin’s rooftop lounge, Hal’s on Abbot Kinney, and all the other dope spots Venice offers.

The best day of April has arrived! (that’s the 11th for those of you who are confused lol) My twenty third birthday, and in honor of the big day I’ve decided to treat myself to a weekend of music, fun, and California. What could be better?
I have a history of being one of thee worst packers ever, so knowing that, I took the liberty of preparing everything 2 days in advance. If I remember anything then I can just add it in. Hopefully this turns out to be as full-proof as I am planning it to be.

Normally I pack like I’m going out-of-town for a month, when I’m really only traveling for a week at most. Bad idea right? I know! Sometimes too many options is worse than having a traveling wardrobe. My solution was to first check the weather and plan outfits accordingly that could most importantly transition from day to night.

The day we were all waiting for finally arrived, Hunger Games opened yesterday and I was at the 1pm showing to see how they interpreted such a great book onto the big screen. I can say about the movie is that it was an excellent depiction of what I imagined as I read those enthralling books. Suzanne Collins was able to write a world to life so much that when people heard there was a movie coming, we all waited with abated breath to see it. Here’s what I wore to my mid-afternoon movie double date with my bff and our beaus.
I wanted a little fun and for me that usually means some fur. I love it! As noted here and here. I also just recently bought a purple fur coat and a fur stole. I can’t get enough! Over the past few weeks denim shirts have become one of my staples, they so easily go with EVERYTHING. Do yourself a favor grab one.
Also big hugs to the lady in Aaron’s Brothers at the Marina Marketplace who said I looked fabulous, she made a brown girl smile. =)

Last week in Los Angeles a bevy of flyy people attended the Marni for H&M party to celebrate the launching of the new collab. It looks to be a great collection.
I am a huge fan of Marni! The patterns, colors, textures, and personality that Consuelo Castiglioni brings to the fashion world are amazing. I’m looking forward to the collection dropping in stores March 8.
