The popular espadrilles brand has taken political fashion to another level with their special edition “VOTE” TOMS. There’s nothing like getting the masses to support the Primary Election than wearing it on your….feet?
Whether you are Democrat, Republican, Bi-Partisan, or you just want to let the world know that you are indeed registered. Although I am not the most political person on the planet, I do enjoy getting involved in the nation’s most important decision every four years. These are awesome! Very bold as well, especially if you decide to sport the party-specific styles, but who’s judging you?
TOMS became a favorite shoe brand of mine years ago when (after discovering their innate comfort for a flat footed individual such as myself) I found out that I am buying two pairs of shoes, 1 for me and 1 for a little cutie somewhere that I’ll never meet.
Support your candidate and support America. If neither of these theories tickle your fancy you can always lean on the simple fact that a shoe-less child in a 3rd world country will benefit from your support. Either way you swing, remember to Stay FLYY.
I was beginning to wonder when the crisp Autumn weather would truly make its arrival, until this morning that is. Woke up with a slight chill and just enough sun to make me feel like I could leave the house without a jacket. Ha! Too bad I wasn’t brave enough to try that one out.

My cold weather wardrobe is beginning to scream New York City, as its main component is black, but I love how chic the color is and the way each piece distinctly characterizes itself. I promise not to bore you with the color. Staying flyy includes the element of surprise
One of my favorite elements of the Brooklyn neighborhood I live in is Prospect Park. It’s huge, open, and filled with such a peaceful aura. Sometimes I visit for a jog or just to read a book outside – which was my favorite thing to do over the summer. Last week I went and did yoga.
There are bike riders a plenty and small children running free, takes me back to the carefree days of childhood. Don’t you miss it sometimes?

After L.Camille experimented with Taliah Waajid’s Curly Curl Cream , I had to give it a test run for myself. My sister has been trying to convince me that Wash-n-Go’s are a great idea, but I’ve never had very good experiences with the method. Most times my hair loses all form of curl by the time it has dried and looks like an undefined mess or I look like I’m rocking a crunchy mullet; neither of which I am a fan.
Enter my current hair goddess – Ms. Taliah Waajid.
I applied an Apple Cider Vinegar rinse
I washed and conditioned my mane with Clear’s nourishing shampoo and conditioner.
I combed the African Hair Oil through damp hair to spread the moisture. Following this I parted my hair into 4 sections, and twisted each one to prepare for the next step.
I rubbed a dollop of Curly Curl Cream into my palms and applied to each of the 4sections individually.
fast forward 1 hour
I still don’t like my hair looking fresh out of the shower, so after an hour of air drying which is about the time it took me to get fully dressed and ready to leave my hair looked ideal…
All in all I am very satisfied with the new product discoveries that I’ve made. Can’t wait to strike gold, again! What do you guys think of my “wash-n-go” ? What new products would you recommend for other naturals that you were über excited about?
Summer mornings on my way to work have been dubbed as “me” time. Sometimes just praying on the way to the train station, talking to my beau, or in this case taking time to listen to Frank Ocean’s newest sound wave Channel Orange. I’m quite fond of it actually. Although it’s a little too early to choose my favorite song, “Thinkin’ About You” is creeping to the top, because I’m always thinking about forever.

A few of my favorite things this week? My new red hair, this beautimous tan, and my new bird earrings (post coming soon).
This dress has become quite the staple. It’s so easy!
Remember the heat wave I told you we were experiencing here in New York? Yeah, so, we’ve been in a monsoon for the past couple of days. Despite this bipolar weather though I had an amazing weekend. Here are some images that pretty much sum it all up. Enjoy!
What is summer without beach days? The heat wave that hit New York earlier this week was nothing more than an excuse to be on someone’s shore, and that’s precisely where you could find me! Easy breezy sundress, bikini, and rainbows all in tow.
Riis Park in Far Rockaway turned out to be a pretty nice beach despite people’s comments of East Coast beaches being subpar. Crowded? Yes. Scolding sand? Oh my gosh, yes. Fresh tan? Duh! I was laid out with not a care in the world and I almost felt like I was back home at Dockweiler Beach for a second. So maybe the Atlantic Ocean isn’t so bad after all.

With the official start to summer only a couple days away, I thought I’d give you all a glimpse of how my warm weather days have been spent thus far. The long awaited rooftop bbq’s, Sunday afternoon mimosas, and night strolls have begun! For my first summer in NYC I’d like to continue exploring the City, Brooklyn, and stumbling across these wonderful free events that take place much more frequently than I feel people give credit for. Enjoy!

My current obsession, these floral oxfords by BDC. Love. I found them on a shopping trip to Urban, I was looking for new bedroom art and got completely off task when I spotted these beauties. Of course they fit like a glove; meaning that my shopping strike came to a crash as soon as I walked toward the cash register completely disregarding my previous search. Ah well! I still win!
