Friday night myself, the mini fashionista and my best friend (@designerjennyp) set out to conquer Fashion Night Out. While the event is popular and well-known on the East coast it is still in its fresh stages here on the West Coast. Yet in still as we made our way to the Beverly Center to check out the various fashion shows to be hosted we saw a great opportunity for the FNOLA to grow and only get better.
The evenings events began with a fashion show MC’d by none other than gossip blog extraordinaire, Perez Hilton and Stephanie Pratt of The Hills. The show delivered a myriad of lines including True Religion, Max&Co, and several others. The show was well run but after a while did get a bit mundane. We ventured over to Macy’s to await the arrival of Teen Vogue’s Lisa Love and “Plain Jane” host Louise Roe. The “Denim Rocks” hosted by Macy’s and Louise Roe was full of wonderful fall fashion and great witty banter from Roe. Her energy made the already fun show that much better. The models looked great and we even spotted ANTM Cycle 9 winner, Saleicia Stowers working the runway.
All in all I believe that event can only get better as more people begin to understand the true purpose behind it, it did seem like many people had no idea what was happening at the mall but had just stumbled into it. For those of us excited about what the held I do believe we were satisfied.
