Staying FLYY…at a holiday party

It’s holiday season, and while around these parts we celebrate Christmas I am a fan of getting festive for all kinds of celebrations. I love all the holiday parties that come with this time of year especially the getting gussied up part. But instead of falling in line with the masses and wearing some variation of red, green, and a hint of metallic I think we should opt for something different this year. This outfit was inspired by this vintage pink holiday wreath…

I love the bursts of pink, mustard yellow, mint greens, and pearl all iridescent and so different than what we normally see during Christmas time. Here’s what I came up with:

Staying FLYY Holiday Party

Most ladies tend to lean toward wearing a cocktail dress and calling it a night, but I am all for  jazzing it up. These metallic pink leggings from Topshop are a great choice paired with a simple black peplum top. Topped with a dash of menswear in the form of a white tuxedo blazer. If you’re really bold add these cobalt blue wedges along with your pearl accessories to complete the look. While it may be a little louder then your typical outfit the palate works so chic-ly together.

If rocking leggings isn’t your forte feel free to bring back and oldie but goody with these overalls combined with a feminine ruffled blouse topped with the pearl collar necklace. In this situation the tuxedo jacket and wedges can work with this outfit too for completion. Personally while I adore both looks these overalls and that jacket together give me all the making of a tuxedo I need. Where’s a top hat when you need one?!

I hope this helps you step out of the box this year at your party and be the star!
